Kelcey's 1st Birthday

Well, with cousins come birthday parties, and Elliot and I can just not seem to stay away! So, this weekend was no exception. Our niece Kelcey turned 1 and we made a "day trip" to Raleigh (yes, that means 4 hours there and 4 hours back, insane, I know!) to attend her party. It was so nice to have all 6 grandchildren together. They decorated cupcakes, played with toys, and even spent some time outside in the beautiful 65 degree weather. Luckily, the family has a photo fanatic (that would be me) so I got many pic of the fun! Enjoy!

Kelcey REALLY enjoyed her cupcake!

Sydney enjoyed her cupcake too! Such a cutie!
Reese and Wesley made sure to get in the "cupcake" fun too!Ella partaking!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Well, Valentine's day is officially on Saturday, but we will be traveling to Raleigh for my nieces 1st birthday, so, we are celebrating today. Wes and I decorated cookies to surprise daddy when he comes home. I so enjoy the times when we can do special things like this. I hope Elliot enjoys the cookies. (We won't tell him of the "finger-lickin" that took place during the decorating process!

A Date...on a Tuesday??

So, it is official! I am getting old. It seems the weekends used to be the times we "lived for" when we were in our teens and early twenties...Well, I must say that along with marriage and two kids, also came a huge shift in what used to be. Elliot and I went on a date last night...a Tuesday! Who goes on dates on Tuesday nights? Well, I am finding that when you can find a sitter and time to sneak in some quality time with your honey, you better do so. But, it gets even better. Elliot's parents came to watch the boys, so they were good to go. Well, we didn't get out the door till 7:45 and ended up just staying in Brevard since it was so late (or late to us - we usually eat around 5:30 or 6pm - when the "whitehairs" eat) - anyway, So we went to Square Root, in town...yummy! As we were finishing up our meal, our heads were bobbing and our eyes were drooping. Elliot said, "lets go, so we can get home and go to bed"! People, we were home at 8:50, and exhausted! How pitiful is that! I guess long workdays, a toddler and a three month old just take it out of you! Maybe one day we will be late-nighters again (prob when we are waiting up for our kids to get home) - but until then we will just take a date when we can, and try to stay up till at least 9pm!

Wintertime blues

There is a new level of excitement today, at least for me! I am taking the boys to the park to meet Robin and Ethny. It is FINALLY supposed to be warmer and I couldn't be happier. As a kid, I loved winter, especially because of the snow. But, now with two little ones, cabin fever is becoming an epidemic! Wesley does great playing "car-trucks" and reading books, but the poor kid is in need of some outside play. A good day of running, playing, sweating, climbing and fresh air. I am not sure Sawyer knows what fresh air is yet! (ha). I don't remember being this "closed in" with Wes, seing as I had him in March. His first months were spent outside. I think when a 3rd child comes into consideration, I will definitely do some better planning and look for the birth to be in warm months! For now, we will just be grateful for 60 degree weather and take full advantage it! Soon enough I am sure I will be on here complaining of 95 degree weather, but oh well....that's life! Our indoor time has prommpted many a photo op, however, so enjoy our little moments of bliss.....i may be biased, but I think my boys are pretty cute!

My smiley boy hanging out in his swing!

Goldfish...yummy!

Ethny was with us again for another fun Friday night - she and Wes saw no reason why they couldn't ride double on the transfer truck! They are such good buddies!

Sawyer....growing in fast foward!

Well, it seems just like yesterday Sawyer arrived, but he will soon be three months old! I can't believe how fast time flies with a second child! He is cooing and talking so much! He loves to smile and take kisses from anyone who will give them! He is 13 pounds and almost 23 inches long. He is certainly his own guy! Some say he looks like his big brother, but he is definitely coming into his own. We can't wait to see his personality reveal itself more and more! I so love having two boys! As the days pass, however, I am more and more convinced that this is not the end of the Aiken lineage! I would LOVE one more! And I think a girl would be so good for Elliot! (Now, if we can just convince him of that!) For now, we will enjoy every moment of two wonderful blessings!
I love this one! It is almost as if all the picture taking literally made Sawyer sick! HAHA! Wes was sure to let me know what happend by telling me, "Baby Saw pit mommy.....baby pit!" I love it!

Yummy Spaghetti.......enough said!
