Sawyer - Take TWO!

This weekend, we celebrated two wonderfully adventurous years with Sawyer Carlton Aiken! He has brought so much joy to our lives. It is so true that no two children are alike, and my boys couldn't be more different. Sawyer's will melt you w/ his little charming looks, and he can also make your blood boil at times, but I can't begin to explain how much he has added to our family. We are so enjoying the big guy he is growing to be. He loves trains, balls and trucks. His favorite thing to do is watch Thomas or Barney, and say EVERYTHING he hears you say. He is learning and growing so much every day. We has a fun celebration w/ family and friends all weekend and are so thankful for all those who pour into us and into the lives of our children. We look forward to many more years with both our little guys and can't wait for the adventures that the Lord has for us!

Aiken Family, Fall in Review

Okay, so, it has only been like 6 months since I have actually posted here! I guess you could say we have been super busy! This summer was a blur, and now it is only a few weeks till Thanksgiving! Time is flying so fast, and I am hardly able to keep up! We are so incredibly blessed and the Lord continues to blow us away as we seek to walk HIS plan for our lives! It is so freeing knowing that we do not have to figure this life out on our own, and that if we try, we are doomed! But, following His plan, we find our purpose and live not only for ourselves, but for His glory, and to spread His truth! It is the best journey!

Wow, where to start! There was a two day getaway to Charleston for Elliot and I....(not long enough, for sure!) Then there was an incredible 4 days in Dallas w/ my Mary Kay girlfriends at our annual Seminar! August brought yet another birthday for my (arggggg - but thankful for another year!) September is one of my favorites! I love the cooler air, the colorful leaves and the coming of sweaters and jeans! :) October is here!!! Elliot and Wes had their first official Pumpkin Carving last night! How fun! I have been busy working at the church as well as building my Mary Kay business! God is blessing in ways I can't even begin to recount! Elliot has been provided with work, which is truly a God send! We are grateful for the Lord's provision!

The boys are great! Wes is 3 1/2 and Sawyer will celebrate #2 on November 12th! WOW! I can't believe it! Wesley is definitely my more laid back, even keel child. Sawyer is a bit more vivacious, outspoken, and well, just LOUD! Their personalities are so genuine and wonderful! I love their uniqueness! God has SUCH a sense of humor! I told Elliot recently (and a bit sarcastically) that I pride myself on the fact that we are raising such spunky, outdoorsy, redneck boys! HA! They find much joy in getting as dirty as they can! They wear hand-me-down clothes, go to bed early, are taught to say "yes mam'" and "yes sir'", and must be creative in their fun, (as we are cheap)! Many may think we are simple, and that is okay. We like the simple life, and I hope my children always choose to build a fort, over playing a video game. Our biggest goal is that they would grow to love the Lord w/ all their heart! The biggest thrill in my life is to hear my 23 month old say, "pray Jesus" as we put Him to bed! As he recites the names of our family and friends, and says thank you for toys, food and our day, my heart leaps! Their hearts are so moldable, and I realize that they are learning from us, even when we don't speak! I just want to make sure they are learning what they should from me! :0)

Below I have posted some pictures from our fall outings. We visited the pumpkin patch with the Stoltzfus family. The others are just from our hanging out at the house and the pumpkin carving! The super hot guy in the pic is my INCREDIBLE AMAZING GODLY HARDWORKING SUPPORTIVE and HANDSOME husband, without whom I would be so very lost! I am enjoying this journey with him! Can't wait to see where we are headed!

A lot has been going on in the world of the Aikens. I am so behind on post, but it is simply b/c of the great deal of activity in our lives....all good stuff! We are blessed!

Weekend in Knoxville!

I had a great visit with the Bierys during my weekend in Tennessee! I enjoyed Career Conference with my Mary Kay girlfriends on Friday/Saturday. Then spent The rest of the weekend with the Bierys! I love them and miss this so much. I wish they lived right beside me! I can't wait to meet Mr. Keaton Darby Biery who will be born early May. His big brother and sister are so excited! Check out the cool bunk beds that Luke's daddy made. I love them! The Aiken boys have this in their future. Elliot is so talented and I know he will do a great job!

Lesson Learned...by me :)

If you are gonna take the time to fold the clothes, just make sure you don't leave the basket of folded clothes in the boys room unattended! This is what may happen. Oops!
